I’ve gained confidence in all aspects - shooting skills, communication skills, business knowledge as well as photographical knowledge. The trips to Shanghai and New York during the course were invaluable in terms of experience and learning.

Paul:  “I had looked at other universities but the courses on offer didn't have the commercial focus that this course has. The facilities are good and I was made to feel very welcome at the interview stage.   When I came for a look around at Open Day, the tutor was passionate about selling the course, but remained honest at the same time.  While I can't speak for other courses, with this particular course, the tutors were major factors in attracting students to study here.  Additionally, the structure of the course, and the way it's tailored to guiding you into work at the end of it is motivating.  It gives you the flexibility to pursue whatever direction you want to. ”
Alex:  “When I was deciding on which university to go to, I made my choice to come here based on my judgement that the work displayed by current students was of a better standard than many competing universities, the facilities are great and the course leader is well renowned and has a wealth of ideas and knowledge. The lecturers are passionate and have industry experience, there are great facilities and helpful staff available whenever needed.”
Paul: “Cheltenham is a nice area, it's big enough without being intimidating like a city can be. Its location is excellent as well - close to Bristol and London.  I’ve gained confidence in all aspects - shooting skills, communication skills, business knowledge as well as photographical knowledge.  The trips to Shanghai and New York during the course were invaluable in terms of experience and learning.”
Alex:  “The high points of my studies have been the pioneering trips to Shanghai and New York which involved collaborations with students and industry professionals, as well as interaction with professionals.  I have found everything here that I’ll need to make a career in photography, and life experiences that have broadened my knowledge.  Other valuable experiences have included sitting in on interviews for the course and helping to set up exhibitions and group shows.   I am currently involved in an exhibition to raise awareness and money for a local charity: Global Footsteps.  So far as actual work experience is concerned, I have assisted various photographers in my specific area of interest.  Interaction with professionals teaches more than any lecture can and is crucial when it comes to having the knowledge required to work as a professional.
Paul: “My plan when I leave university is to assist other photographers for a few years, before finally trying to be a photographer myself.”
Alex: “When I graduate shortly, I plan to assist photographers, work on personal project to raise my profile, build on current relationships with clients and gain new ones.”
