Partnerships to support learning
The University of Gloucestershire prides itself on its well-established partnerships. We work with many FE Colleges, schools and other universities to reach the people interested in studying engineering technology subjects. These partnerships are created to encourage aspiration for progression in engineering among all our students, and meet strong local employer demand.
Announced in April by Education Secretary, Damian Hinds, our successful £21m joint bid will see the University set up a Government-backed Institute of Technology (IoT) in collaboration with partner institutions, Swindon College and New College Swindon. See our
latest news pages for full details of the announcement.
This is part of a long-term, strategic investment by the University to expand our portfolio and build on the expertise we already have in computing, design and technology.
The news comes just two weeks after the University
announced the launch of a suite of degree programmes in a range of engineering specialisms starting this September, and further emphasises the University’s growing role in offering higher level technical education to address skills gaps in key STEM areas.
