I am the Academic Course Leader for the BSc (Hons) Nursing (Mental Health)

Biography

I have extensive clinical and academic experience in working with acute and forensic mental health services in the UK and NSW Australia. My area of expertise is the use of postmodern nursing strategies to reduce the use of coercive measures in mental health services. I have a portfolio of publications and have presented at a number of national and international nursing and mental health conferences.

Awards

Stuart was also a member of the team that won the Times Higher Education Award 2016 for Outstanding Support of Students in the roll out and delivery of the suicide mitigation programme for students entitled "3 Minutes to save a Life".

Stuart holds membership registrations with the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council as an Adult Nurse, Mental Health Nurse and a Nurse Teacher.

Stuart is currently a professional doctorate student at the University of Wolverhampton and is researching the experiences of time, place and space of people subjected to mental health panopticism (Community Treatment Orders (CTO’s) using photo reflexive ethnography.
