My research and teaching interests focus on accents & dialects, non-standard varieties of English. Currently, I am interested in perceptions of rural dialects - Forest of Dean & urban dialects – British-AfroCaribbeans.

Biography

As Senior Lecturer in English Language and Linguistics, my passion is for students to engage in real research from day 1. I teach a range of subjects including Sociolinguistics - Dialects & Accents, World Englishes, Conversation Analysis, Research Methods, Language Acquisition. I have published articles on non-standard varieties of British and Caribbean Englishes. Currently, I am investigating the Forest of Dean dialect.
