I've made, listened to and talked about music for as long as I can remember. I love the challenge of working out where to take music next as there’s always another way of playing or singing it. The future of music has never felt more exciting.

I'm a musician and academic, and my main areas of teaching include composition, performance, political economy and philosophy of music. I've played music all my life and throughout a varied career that's included tours in Europe, Scandinavia and the US; pop, rock, folk, jazz and classical music; music for film and dance; playing at festivals, speaking at international conferences & winning awards, I've found that music is still the best reason to get up in the morning.
