Sports Leadership, Education and Society

Sport has provided me with many wonderful opportunities and life experiences. These experiences often form the foundation of my academic work and inspire my critical exploration of sporting practices.

Biography

My teaching coheres around sport policy, development and management, while my research examines the role of sport in enacting social change, in particular within urban communities and youth populations. More specifically, I explore how participation in sport can enhance social inclusion, contribute to the development of citizenship, and may be used to prevent crime and anti-social behaviour.
