The module affords the opportunity to further the computer games work undertaken at level 4 with techniques for designing 3D models and animations as well as evaluating various industry standard tools. Students will have the opportunity to work in teams producing a product from a client brief.
The module covers an introduction to 3D modeling and animation. The students will be shown a variety of tools and techniques for developing content for games. These will include: modeling, textures, mapping, lighting and realistic rendering methods. In addition, various animation principles and techniques will be covered, including particle systems, key framing, dynamics, rigging and bipeds.
