Postgraduate Taught Courses

From journalism to hospitality management, we have a lot to offer

Learning is a journey with many different paths.

Some find their own way through research, others through taught courses.

What postgraduate qualifications are there?

We offer a wide range of taught courses. Most of them have three stages, postgraduate certificate (60 points), postgraduate diploma (120 points) and masters of arts, science, education or business administration (180 points).

How does a postgraduate course work?

You need to complete modules to the total credit value required for your award. So if a module is 20 points, you need to complete three for the postgraduate certificate.

What kind of courses are there?

You can choose between learning for work or pleasure. Some courses are accredited by professional organisations whereas other programmes have specifically designed in conjunction with industry professionals.

How long does it take?

Many courses can be taken part-time, so this can vary. But you can complete a master’s degree within 12 months, though you can have up to four years to do so.

What are the entry requirements?

Usually you need a good honours degree or equivalent, but other qualifications, skills and experience will also be considered. Please see individual course pages for specific entry requirements.

How much does it cost?

Pound sign and question mark

Each course can vary in price, so these are explained individually. You may also need to pay for things like materials and field trips. If you graduated from a designated course at the University of Gloucestershire within the last year you will receive a 20% discount on fees.
