Postgraduate Certificate/Postgraduate Diploma/MSc
These courses are designed for healthcare professionals who require a postgraduate qualification in Advanced Practice (Health) who currently work, or plan to work, with patients to enhance their psychological and social wellbeing, either in community, primary or acute healthcare settings.
Aims of the programme
The focus of the programmes is on advancing knowledge, skills and practice to enable clinical staff to develop, lead and enhance the physical, psychological and social care of patients at an advanced level of practice.
Within the Postgraduate Certificate course, advanced health assessment skills are developed alongside professional issues relating to advanced practice.
The Postgraduate Diploma provides the opportunity to reflect critically on the methods and purposes of Advanced Practice, within the broad context of enquiry. This includes training in specific research methods and/or techniques as preparation for research in professional practice. The PG Dip builds on the assessment skills developed as part of the PG Cert and enables student to undertake further study related to Advanced Practice.
For the Masters route, the Dissertation gives the opportunity to conduct a sustained and intensive investigation into one topic and to present findings in a formal manner in accordance with academic conventions and the requirements of the subject.
