Postgraduate Certificate (part-time only)
The Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education aims to develop students’ understanding of academic practice in higher education, including the principles and processes of teaching and learning and the various external and institutional factors impacting upon academic provision and practice.
Opportunities are provided for students to explore research and scholarship in academic practice with in order to help them to develop research informed teaching. Teaching will be assessed in the workplace.
Course content includes curriculum design and development, teaching and supporting learning, assessment and evaluation, all within a higher education context. Students are enabled to reflect critically on their own professional practice and to identify their development needs for the future.
60 credits awarded at Certificate Stage can be transferred onto the MEd in Higher Education programme. Please contact the course administration team for more information.
