Postgraduate Certificate/MA
Led by a specialist team of University staff in association with colleagues from Redcliffe College, a locally-based mission training institution, this course is supported by a range of agencies. These include Christians in Sport, Ambassadors in Sport, Youth for Christ and the Joseph Rank Trust, which, through it’s Active Faith, Active Sports initiative, provides funding for bursaries to help secure fulltime employment for graduates in new sports ministry settings.
Sport means different things to different people and the ways in which Christian organisations can connect with others through sport are at the heart of this new and unique course.
Modules provide an opportunity for students to find out more about
working in outreach and community settings. Drawing upon key aspects of applied theology, sports studies, and community development, the course offers students both campus and placement learning opportunities, helping them to analyse, critique and develop this expanding field.
Subjects covered range from Sports Mission to Contemporary Coaching Practice. If you are a graduate from a related discipline, or have a particular interest in the relationship between sport and faith, you are strongly encouraged to apply.
