The Postgraduate Diploma Human Resource Management follows a part-time curriculum designed to offer flexibility for those studying while working. As a student, you will learn in a community of like-minded professionals; you will receive excellent learning support and have access to the university’s extensive resources to develop your knowledge.
The MSc Human Resource Management is a fast track to CIPD membership: become a CIPD associate member in one year while gaining a Master’s degree. As a student you will study full-time, often alongside part-time students who are also practitioners; this creates a rich learning community where professional experiences can be shared and discussed. The course places a strong emphasis on active learning to complement theory. You will have the opportunity to attend an employment tribunal or other HR related event; you will also be required to attend on-campus CIPD events to enhance your knowledge and expand your professional network.
The MSc course is delivered on a full-time basis with both day and evening attendance, while the PGDip course is delivered part-time one afternoon/evening a week.
To study the full-time MSc, you will need:
- a good undergraduate degree with an interest in the area;OR
- practical work/organizational experience at degree levelOR
- have an appropriate pre-masters programme and have practical work/organizational experience at degree level
- in addition for international/non-native English speakers - IELT score of 6.5, written 6.0.
To study the part-time PGDip you will need:
- an undergraduate degree with an interest in the areaOR
- a number of years HR experience and/or management experienceOR
- hold professional qualifications L3-5, ranging from the CIPD Certificate/Foundation Programmes such as the CPP & CTP, Intermediate L5 or Certificate in Management Studies (CMS)
- for non-native English speakers - IELT score of 6.5, written 6.0
