Tutor

Your course will be delivered by Chantal Laws. Chantal is a senior lecturer in events management at the University of Gloucestershire and has been teaching and researching in the field of cultural industries management for ten years. She also has professional experience in the arts and heritage sectors and worked as venue manager at Blackheath Halls, a client organization of the Arts Council, England. She has a lifelong passion for music both as a performer and consumer, and has published and presented widely on aspects of music event management. Currently, Chantal is researching into boutique music festivals and secret events.

Of the course Chantal says - “With the phenomenal growth of festivals in the past 10 years have come great opportunities to establish new and exciting events. However, this very growth has led to volatility with many new festivals closing in a challenging marketplace. Clearly, effective management skills are vital for success beyond the short-term and this course provides fresh perspectives on key issues for festival managers."
