Projects and partnerships - designing, managing and evaluating

One of the University of Gloucestershire’s ‘Essentials of Community Development’ (ECD) series.

Project management and partnership working have a lot in common! Both aim to make sure that the use of resources (people, skills, time, and finances) are used efficiently in order to maximise positive outcomes & relationships – it’s all about getting the most out of sometimes limited and scarce resources.

Good projects and partnerships mean tailoring the management process and approach to the scale of work and the overall context in which it is operating. As many community development partnerships commission, implement, and manage projects, these skills become all the more important.

This course explores the design, management and assessment of both projects and partnerships for effective implementation and added value. It also explores the power of partnership work for enhancing outcomes, evaluating impacts from activities that provide tangible evidence to sponsors, donors, and funders.
