If you have completed a Foundation Degree or Higher National Diploma, and are looking to progress your career to a management role, this degree offers the perfect blend of experience in both health and social care, and business sectors. There are also routes to progress onto a masters programme or PGCE to qualify as a social worker or teacher.
Flexibility is built into the course. You can use your current employment, or if you don’t currently have a job within the sector, a placement will be found for you. Academic study is delivered around work, allowing you to 'earn and learn'. Instead of a dissertation, students on the work-based route can do a management project linked to their work.
You will benefit from guest lecturers from the world of health and social care and business management. Previous speakers include professionals from Age UK and St Johns Care Home.
The course will be assessed through work-related assignments, reflections, individual and group presentations, case studies, task booklets, blogs, podcasts and projects/dissertations.
Take a look at the course map for a breakdown of modules that you'll study to complete the course.
