This course will prepare you for industrial control engineering. You will explore new developments and challenges involved in integrating the digital world to drive smart factories and advanced manufacturing. You will learn methods of enhancing revolutionary changes to connected devices and addressing new cyber risks when adopting Industry 4.0 that are a vital part of modern business.
The programme has been designed to create effective inter/multi-disciplinary engineers who have acquired the necessary creative and technical skills to work within the broad spectrum of modern industry.
You will gain a solid knowledge of industrial control engineering including the automation technology, operation, engineering design, engineering management, pioneering approaches in this field and how to apply them to solve real-world problems.
Students successfully completing the course will be able to progress to the proposed level 7 MEng Engineering degrees.
The course has been designed to be accredited by Engineering Council through the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the Institution of Mechanical Engineering (iMechE), and/ or Energy Institute.
Shared learning is strongly encouraged, with group work bringing together engineers from a variety of companies and backgrounds to shape projects and tasks.
