I love linking the abstract to the practical. Strategy and innovation combine fascinating issues in psychology, network science, economics, history and ethics and seeing how these ideas combine to explain success or failure is quite something.

I have always been fascinated by explaining or predicting long-term outcomes for people, organisations or even nation states. Strategy gets us thinking deeply about these things and therefore suggests ways to do things better. Strategy is not an easy subject but it truly rewards a flexible state of mind; able to blend practical and immediate details with highly detached or abstract thinking.
