This course covers a broad spectrum of media theories and skills from media communications and culture, journalism and public relations.

International students will study in classes with home students pursuing their BA (Hons) degrees..

Noor Amylia Hilda

Now that I have completed my course, I am hoping to become a set designer or a director of photography as I have an avid interest in designing sets for films as well as films in general.

Mass Communications Top-up Graduate (2011)

After having taken a very practically-based Diploma course in Mass Communications, I chose the University of Gloucestershire to study the Mass Communications Top-up course as it is theory-based.  I felt that this would allow me to gain a better insight into the film and entertainment industry, enhancing my future career as a media practitioner. Additionally, the location of the university attracted me, as I prefer a laid-back environment in which to live and study as opposed to bigger student cities.
The courses offered by the university are very concise and make it easy for potential students to pick the modules that they wish to study. I enjoyed the social environment and the surroundings which made the university a great place to study and socialise. Besides that, the lecturers were very helpful and supportive. In addition to my coursework, I supported several events organised by the Students Union, as well as participating in the Cheltenham Illustration Awards 2011
Through my part-time experience working at the Cheltenham Racecourse , I learnt to be more independent, as well as to manage my time wisely.
Now that I have completed my course, I am hoping to become a set designer or a director of photography as I have an avid interest in designing sets for films as well as films in general. I hope to be able to work in a production company and to continue making films.
