Psychology 2012 Entry

Honours Degree

Giving you a solid grounding in the theories and issues of modern psychology, our diverse course embraces practical and theoretical work.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in conducting research and experimentation, and as part of the Department of Natural and Social Sciences, have the opportunity to meet and study with students on other programmes such as biology and criminology.

A psychology degree is also a firm basis for training in academic or professional psychology, including the areas of educational, occupational, forensic, and clinical psychology. Other career opportunities range from teaching, counselling and community work through to advertising and marketing, personnel and general management.

Introductory modules in our programme offer a broad overview of the subject, and psychological research methods. As you progress, you’ll be able to choose from a range of specialised topics focused around your interests.

The psychology experimental and computing laboratories, which are equipped with a range of specialist resources, will prove invaluable as you pursue your own research.

Our psychology programme received the highest student satisfaction rating of all UK undergraduate psychology programmes in the 2007 National Student Survey.
