Financial Assistance Fund

The University has established a Financial Assistance Fund that is open to applications from current students who can demonstrate financial hardship.
Eligibility
Eligible students will:
- be enrolled on a degree or postgraduate qualification at the University of Gloucestershire.
- be a ‘Home’ student or an EU student that started their course prior to September 2021 and are eligible for ‘home’ fees.
- have taken out their full entitlement of Maintenance Loan in the current academic year.
- be studying on a University campus, not at a franchised college.
Exclusions
- International students are not eligible to apply for the Financial Assistance Fund.
- EU students that start their course from September 2021 are not eligible to apply for the Financial Assistance Fund.
How to apply
The application form is only accessible when students have completed enrolment and begun their course. To access the form, students must log in to Student Records, go to the ‘Bills, Funding and Finance’ section, then click on ‘Funding and Bursaries’, followed by ‘Apply for Financial Assistance Fund’. All documents can be uploaded during the application process.
- Award amounts cannot be estimated until a completed application is submitted.
- Assessments take up to 21 working days to complete, provided that all relevant information is submitted.
- Awards from the Financial Assistance Fund are means tested on each student’s personal income and expenditure and as such are not guaranteed.
- EU students are expected to have made sufficient provision for their living costs before undertaking their qualification – the fund should only be used by EU students if unexpected financial difficulties arise.
