Pittville Studios
Based near Cheltenham Racecourse, Pittville Studios is purpose built for media, art and communications.
Founded as an art school over 150 years ago it offers a history of expertise in traditional fields combined with modern courses in new areas. The Faculty provides extensive studio and gallery space together with industry standard media facilities.
The Faculty boasts professional studios and equipment and hosts guests such as journalist Sir Trevor McDonald and Tony Wadsworth, former Chairman and Chief Executive of EMI Music UK and Ireland.
Gain Practical Experience and Valuable Skills
All our practical courses include relevant theoretical elements to produce graduates with a range of skills attractive to employers and right for their chosen career. Many of our students undertake placements with high profile companies in the media industry.
Everything You Need
Our Media Centre opened in 1993 and houses many of our courses in still and moving image. We have industry standard equipment and facilities that include a Blue Screen TV studio, radio studio and brand new state-of-the-art digital music recording studio. Recently we have invested in high definition cameras and new suites of macs.
Photography courses benefit from extensive galleries, traditional ‘wet’ processing complemented by a progressive migration to digital image capture. There are also more traditional facilities for students that don’t seek to express themselves through technology. Pittville hosts extensive studio facilities for painting, textiles, print making, illustration, advertising and graphic design. Student work is often featured in our own art gallery.
Skillset Media Academy
In 2007 Pittville Studios was made a leading partner in a Skillset Media Academy. The academies are recognised centres of excellence in media education and the award means the Faculty is now part of an elite group of education providers recognised for the quality of their provision, innovation, industry links and professional development.
