About the Faculty
The Faculty of Sport, Health and Social Care is located at the Oxstalls Campus. Built in Gloucester in 2002, the Oxstalls campus is one of the country’s largest providers of sport and exercise programmes. For information, please see the Faculty of Sport, Health & Social Care.
Facilities
This modern campus is minutes away from the historic heart of Gloucester city centre. It has been purpose built to give students the facilities they need and at its core is an inter-professional approach to sport, health and social care. For more information on the facilities on offer at this faculty see Facilities at the Faculty of Sport, Health and Social Care.
Research
The faculty provides academic leadership for the public services in Gloucestershire, supported by nationally and internationally recognised research. Research partnerships ensure that knowledge creation and exchange has a clear applied focus. The range of research interests in the Faculty are represented in the staff profiles, and the highlighted partnership projects reflect the applied focus of much of our research. Increasingly wellbeing and quality of life is becoming a major concern, and the faculty is well placed to contribute to this agenda through all areas of research interest, and the sustainability interests in the university as a whole.
Student Experience
As a student within the faculty you will be offered a full range of sporting, arts and social activities and participation can be the best way to make new friends and find new interests. If you’ve always wanted to try something new but haven’t had the opportunity, this is your chance.
The faculty provides support to three main areas of University sport.
