These terms and conditions apply to all Scholarships and Bursaries offered through the International Development Centre at the University of Gloucestershire. Each scholarship or bursary may have additional terms and conditions.
- Applicants must hold an offer of a place of study on a full-time bachelors degree or taught masters degree (180 credits) at the University of Gloucestershire.
- All scholarship applicants/recipients must be overseas fee payers.
- Applicants must have no outstanding offer conditions attached to their place of study except for the tuition fee deposit and passport photocopy.
- Scholarship applicants must complete the scholarship application form.
- Certified copies/notarised copies of your highest qualification will be required to verify your results/qualifications.
- The closing date for appications is Friday 17th June 2011; scholarship applications received after this date will not be considered.
- Scholarship applications will be considered by a Scholarship Award Panel. The Panel will select their preferred candidates on the basis of their overall scholarship application and UCAS/undergraduate/postgraduate application form. Awards are merit based. The Panel may consider the following aspects: academic performance, English language, merit of Personal Statement.
- The Scholarship Award Panel’s decision will be finalized in July 2011, and applicants will be notified of the decision on their application by email from August 2011.
- The decision of the Scholarship Award Panel is final – the university will not enter into any correspondence with unsuccessful candidates regarding their decision.
- Successful scholarship applicants must meet any outstanding conditions (i.e. tuition fee deposit/passport photocopy) by the 26th August 2011 to receive the scholarship.
- Once awarded application-based scholarships cannot be deferred to following entry points. Automatic awards can be deferred while the scholarship programme continues to be in operation.
- By accepting the scholarship or bursary, candidates are giving the university permission to use their details for promotional purposes.
The Award
- The scholarships will not be paid in cash. Scholarships will be deducted from the first year’s tuition fees on arrival at the University of Gloucestershire.
- Recipients must not be in receipt of a full scholarship from any other source.
- In the first term at Gloucestershire, all successful scholarship winners will be invited to attend a reception to receive their award certificate.
- Scholarship winners may be asked to provide a case study which may be used in university publications or on the website.
- This award cannot be held in conjunction with any other university awards.
