Fees

Money is at the heart of the matter for most students, so managing your budget is vital. Fees for continuing UK and EU full-time students on undergraduate degree, HND and Foundation  degree courses are  £3,465 for the  2012/13 academic year.  For new entrants in 2012/13 the fees for UK and EU full-time students on undergraduate degree courses are £8,250 and Foundation degrees are £6,000. Click here for further information regarding tuition fees.

Fees for international (non-EU) students are different. For details of our international tuition fees, please click here.

Work placements are £1,000 a year. We’ll use some of the additional income received from tuition fees to improve student support and facilities.

Student Loans for Fees
Eligible students won’t have to pay fees before studying. You’ll repay them after you have left university and earning more than £15,000 a year for continuing students or £21,000 per year for new entrants who started their courses after 1st September 2012.

Postgraduate Student Fees
Postgraduate taught and research fees set out are the price of each stage of the awards, and guaranteed for that stage only, provided there is no break in study.
Students starting a new full-time course after successfully completing a designated course with us within the last year or after a one year break in study may be eligible for a fee discount under the terms of the university's Tuition Fee & Bursary Policy. There is no discount for students who have more than a one year break in study. Fees are normally payable in advance and subject to increase each year.

Part-time Students
Part-time undergraduate and foundation degree students will only be charged fees for the  modules studied  in any one academic year. Modules for  2012/13 will be priced at  £465 per single module for continuing students and either £750 or £1,030 for new entrants dependant upon your programme of study. Once you’ve decided how many to take in a year you’ll only be asked to pay for these.
Financial help is available for eligible students from England studying in the UK from Student Finance England.   You need to apply and application information is available from  http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/EducationAndLearning/UniversityAndHigherEducation/StudentFinance/.

Other Charges

Some courses may incur additional costs for materials, special facilities or field trips. Details can be found in scheme handbooks, course guides  and information leaflets . Students taking modules with additional charges will be required to pay for them. To find out how much our courses are, visit our courses pages.

Credit Accumulation Transfer Scheme
If you have credit for prior learning, you may be quoted a reduction in fees. It’s important you have written confirmation of these before you  enrol, so we can calculate the correct amount you need to pay.

Liability and debt
Even if you are sponsored, you’re responsible for any outstanding fees or amounts, at all times. No student with an outstanding debt can  progress to the next stage of their programme of study, receive an award, be considered for further qualifications, or be given a reference from the University.

Changes in circumstances
If you wish to break your programme of study, you’ll need to inform your course leader and Academic Registry (Student Records), so we can maintain your student status.

Students applying for a deferred place for 2012/13 entry will be eligible for the 2012 student support package. Details of this will appear on this website in due course.
