University students take on Berlin’s music scene

University Music and Media students organised two international gigs in the German capital.

Over 100 students headed out to Berlin, to organise a showcase featuring the best musical talents from the institution as part of their course.

‘Made To Measure’, a promotional company made up of third year Music and Media Management students from the University of Gloucestershire, scouted talent, coordinated and ran two shows in the heart of the city. The first night took place at Musik und Frieden, showcasing the best musical talent from the institution. The second gig was held at the exclusive music cafe, Prachtwerk located in central Berlin, featuring an acoustic set with seven student acts. Both were regarded as a monumental success, with students and staff claiming the events were some of the best the University has ever put on.

A Music and Media management student, who worked on the shows, said:

“The bands were incredible and the team did an amazing job organising both gigs. This was such a great experience to organise a gig in a European city and was definitely a high point in the University’s music and media scene.

Students also had the opportunity to visit the Museum of Musical Instruments followed by a workshop at the, world famous, Funkhaus Studio.
