Alchemy at University Festival

With just one week to prepare a collaborative project, students at the University of Gloucestershire will be joining forces and racing against time to put their work in the spotlight.

Starting on June 1, Alchemy will see media and humanities students creating everything from a live performance to an art installation, short film and more, which will then be presented on June 8 at The Wilson art gallery and museum in Cheltenham.

The inaugural Alchemy event is part of the University Festival which is from June 1 until June 10. Many events, including Alchemy, are free and open to the public.

Tom Soper, Senior Lecturer in Popular Music, said: “This is the first time we have run Alchemy and we are all really looking forward to the work the students have created – it promises to be an evening full of surprises. We are planning for Alchemy to be a regular event at the University Festival. It’s a great challenge and an excellent way of helping students work with their peers outside their school to create something unique.”

Alchemy is open to all and takes place at The Wilson from 7.30pm on Wednesday 8 June. Places can be booked on Eventbrite.
