Lord David Willetts to speak at university

The former Minister for Universities and Science, the Rt Hon Lord David Willetts, is taking centre stage at the University of Gloucestershire as part of the new series of public lectures.

Now Executive Chair of the Resolution Foundation, he served as the Member of Parliament for Havant (1992-2015), as Minister for Universities and Science (2010-2014) and previously worked at HM Treasury and the Number 10 Policy Unit.

He will be presenting this year’s Chancellor’s Lecture, and exploring the ever changing face of the higher education landscape, and the challenges and opportunities the sector faces. The future of The University will be held at the Park campus in Cheltenham on Thursday 13 October. He will be introduced by Baroness Rennie Fritchie, Chancellor of the University of Gloucestershire.

The event starts with refreshments at 5pm, and the lecture is from 6pm until 7pm. The public lecture is free but tickets must be booked in advance.
