Popular music student Demi Marriner performs at Wychwood Festival

First year Popular Music student Demi and her band made up of fellow students Jack Quance, Will Mawer, Adam Hodges and Tomasz Williams opened the main stage at the Wychwood Festival on Sunday 5 June as well as playing on the acoustic stage on Saturday night.

The Wychwood festival is an idyllic, care-free event which takes place at the end of May, beginning of June in the beautiful Prestbury Hills in the grounds of the Cheltenham racecourse. Dating back to the first event in 2005, this event prides itself on its creative programming and has hosted some classic acts from the UK’s Rock and Indie scenes.

Alongside the 4 music stages showcasing over 100 bands across 3 days, there are also a variety of other activities such as craft workshops, comedy, children’s literature festival and great food to enjoy giving it a mini Glastonbury feel.

Prior to the festival Demi was interviewed by BBC Radio Gloucestershire’s Nicky Price. Click here to listen to one of Demi’s songs, ‘Pretty’.
