Retailing the subject for next university inaugural lecture

Neil Towers, Professor in Retail Management/Marketing, will be taking to the lectern on Wednesday 10 June to discuss the shifting focus of retail in all sectors.

With over 30 years’ industry and academic experience, including senior roles in the manufacturing business in the 1980s and ’90s, Neil has worked with, among others, Schuh, Next, George at Asda, Per Una and Waitrose. He is Lead for Research at the University of Gloucestershire Business School and has authored a number of sector policy reports.

On giving his lecture, Neil said, ‘I am really looking forward to sharing my thoughts and expertise on the subject of megatrends in a rapidly changing retail sector that has seen the dominant multiples taken to task by the discounters, local sourcing and customer services moving to centre stage.’

This public lecture is free to attend and everybody is invited to come along, although booking is essential. The lecture starts at 6 although refreshments will be available from 5. To join Neil for what promises to be a fascinating evening, please email loldham@glos.ac.uk.
