University to host EU referendum debate

The University of Gloucestershire is hosting an EU referendum debate on Friday 13 May at the Park campus, Cheltenham, from 6pm. Chaired by Head of Media School, Anne Dawson, the panel will include prominent UKIP MEP Steven Woolfe, the Conservative MP for Stroud Neil Carmichael, Cheltenham businesswoman and former UKIP candidate Christina Simmonds, University of Gloucestershire Business School lecturer Jim Keane, Rob Young from the National Union of Students, and second-year International Business Management student at the university, Alex Jones.

The event will also be filmed by students from the university’s Media School, and streamed live on the internet. Tickets are free, but places are limited so booking is essential.

Anne will be quizzing the panel on why we should or shouldn’t remain in the EU and the subsequent impact on such issues as the economy, immigration, financial regulations, business and travel. Questions will also be invited from the audience. If anyone wants to submit a question, please email communications@glos.ac.uk.
