Undergraduate Open Days

Group of prospective students at one of the University's open days

Welcome

Next Open Day:

Saturday 9th October across all campuses

For our next open day in your subject please use the Open Day Finder

The best way to fully take in the atmosphere of a university and to get a good impression of what life would be like there is to visit it. The University of Gloucestershire offers open days throughout the year, providing opportunities for prospective students to get a feel for the campus and understand more about life here.

On these days you will get the chance to explore the four campuses, chat with current students and meet lecturers and University staff. As well as meeting the people and viewing the campuses, our open days give you the chance to:

  • See all facilities on offer such as halls of residence, SU bars and sports facilities
  • Have a guided tour of the campus
  • Gather info on finances, welfare and student life in general
  • See Cheltenham and Gloucester (if you don't already live there!)
  • Be able to imagine yourself here and understand the university experience better

Bookings

You can book by using one of the following options:

You should choose the date most convenient to you and the University campus most relevant to the main subject you wish to study. You can check which campus is appropriate by referring to the Open Day Finder. Whilst we do try to keep the open days as informal and relaxed as possible we do need you to reserve a place so we can monitor numbers attending.

We welcome schools wishing to make group bookings for Open Days.

What to expect from an Open Day

A typical programme will last approximately 2½ - 3 hours and will usually include:

  • Welcome by Faculty Dean
  • Introduction to the University by Director of Student Recruitment and Access
  • Finance talk
  • Students’ Union talk
  • Subject talk with tutors
  • Opportunity to chat to staff and current students over refreshments
  • Tour of campus and accommodation

Staff will be available from Student Services and Student Recruitment to discuss accommodation, finance, disability and admissions procedures. Current students will also be on hand to share their experiences of life as a student at the university.

We offer a structured programme (see an example) so would advise that you arrive shortly before the advertised start time. You will be issued with a more detailed programme on arrival at the registration desk.

For more information please contact the Student Recruitment Office on 0844 801 1100 or email opendays@glos.ac.uk.

If you can't make it along to one of our open days, why not take a virtual tour of our campuses?
