Regular giving

You can choose to give your gift monthly, annually or quarterly if you prefer. Many of our supporters find giving by standing order an affordable and convenient way to make a difference. A regular gift provides the University with a flow of income on which it can depend. Online giving is also available.

Single gifts

You can write a cheque, payable to 'University of Gloucestershire, or make a payment by credit card or debit card. Online giving is also available.

Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer you can significantly increase the value of your gift at no extra cost to yourself. By signing a Gift Aid declaration, you enable the University to claim back the tax you have already paid on your gift. Higher rate tax payers benefit further. You can claim back the difference between basic rate and higher rate tax on your gift.

Perhaps you would prefer to support the University with a bequest? This method of giving is favoured by many alumni and friends who want to make a difference after their death. A gift of this nature also reduces your inheritance tax liability.

Stocks and shares

Individual taxpayers are eligible for tax relief on gifts of certain shares, securities and other investments. This is in addition to capital gains tax relief on gifts of assets to charity.

Payroll giving

If you are in employment, you can arrange for your gift to be deducted from your gross pay before tax, effectively increasing the value of your contributions. The result is greater support for the University at less cost to you. Please contact your Personnel or Human Resources department to find out if they operate this scheme.

Matched giving

Many employers have matching gift programme and will match any charitable contributions made by their employees.  This is a great way to increase the impact of your gift.  If you're not sure if your employer operates such a scheme, contact your human resources department who can provide further information.

Giving via Charities Aid Foundation

You can open a charity account with CAF and make donations that already include the tax the University is entitled to claim. Please make CAF vouchers payable to "University of Gloucestershire".

Reunion giving

The University’s Reunion Giving Programme allows alumni to celebrate their reunion by giving back to the institution that brought them together in the first place. Gifts raised from you and your class mates can go towards any of our current funds. Whichever fund your reunion chooses to donate to will help us develop our strengths in order to compete successfully in a competitive market and provide talented individuals with greater opportunities. Please visit our Giving to Gloucestershire page to find out more about the current campaigns.

Sponsored Fundraising

If you are planning to take part in an event and are raising sponsorship for any of the University's campaigns then you can set up your own Just Giving page which allows friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you by donating securely online.

For more information on how to set up your page please see the instructions provided on the Just Giving website. This can be found on the Just Giving site at

On your Just Giving page please highlight the University campaign you wish your sponsorship to be directed towards. Just Giving will transfer your donations directly to the University of Gloucestershire. All you need to do is ask your family and friends to sponsor you!
