BA Hons Broadcast Journalism, 2007

Why did you choose the University of Gloucestershire?
I was impressed with the facilities and the enthusiastic nature of the tutors.

Did you attend one of our open days?  What did you think?
Yes, one of the main reasons I decided to come to UOG

What were the high points of your time at the University?
Interviewing David Cameron and expanding my contacts book. Meeting some great mates and being taught by some fantastic tutors

What did you like best about the course and what aspects do you consider worth promoting to potential students?
Especially in the industry we’re in, you need to take your breaks. The university managed to open a few doors and I had to learn to walk through them.

What do you think you gained most from the course and how do you feel your studies enhanced your career potential?
I learnt how to behave in the industry. To not be fazed by complicated terms and how the basics of all industries are the people you meet.

What social activities were you involved in during your time here e.g. Students’ Union – Jobshop, clubs and societies, volunteering?
Sports Editor of the student newspaper / drive-time presenter on the student radio station / Debating Society treasurer

What do you miss the most about university life?
The ability to have a certain freedom within stories….to be able to pick whatever story you want and have to chase it.

What are you hoping to do next and/or what are you doing at present?
I am Online Content Producer at talkSPORT.net and freelancer at Setanta Sports News. I produce podcast and blogs for www.footballfancast.com. I’m off to South Africa next summer to follow the British and Irish Lions and syndicate my audio / video and copy.
