Year 10 Residential
What is university really like? Each year we offer 60 Year 10 students the chance to find out! Successful students will learn about the wide range of courses available at the University of Gloucestershire from our academics, and claim their own room in Halls of Residence for their stay. Current Student Ambassadors will be on hand too to answer any questions and help students take a leap out of their comfort zone and become a fresher for the week. There'll even be Freshers' Fair and sports and societies to sign up to – after all, university is not just about studying!
Summer school students receive continued support right up until year 13 to help them achieve their goals.
Summer schools are completely free, including meals, activities and accommodation.
Would your students benefit from some extra support at school to
motivate them to
achieve their goals? Our trained, current university students can mentor Year 9-11 students from Compact Partner schools and colleges. Whether it be university information and advice or revision and study skills support, our Student Mentors will work with your students for up to 6 weeks* to target the areas in which they would like extra help.
*Mentees receive continued support right up until Year 13 to help them achieve their goals.
Talks and Workshops
We offer a range of fun activities designed to provide inspiration and insight into the world of higher education. Workshops include the A-Z of university courses, a Top Trumps-style future prospects game, and our ever popular Mint or Skint budgeting board game. Find out more via our events calendar.
Specifically aimed at Pre-16 Students, our Aspiration Days provide a gentle introduction to university.
Choose from a range of our pre-16 workshops, to create a day bespoke for your students. We encourage your students to reflect on their current skills and experience and identify what they can act upon now, to help them work towards achieving their goals in the future.
Meet our current Student Ambassadors who will take your students on a campus tour, share their experiences of university life and answer any questions.
Students will leave motivated, inspired, and most of all more informed about higher education.
Aspiration Days are offered across all our campuses throughout the academic year and can be tailored to either a morning/afternoon or full day slot.
