International Centre for Contemporary Accounting Research (CenCAR)

The International Centre for Contemporary Accounting Research (CenCAR) aims to foster a high quality, supportive and managed research environment for accounting researchers including postgraduate accounting students. The centre will build on the experiences of current active researchers in the Department of Finance in supporting emerging researchers to develop their capabilities to become established researchers within the field of accounting and financial management.

Furthermore, the centre extends and deepens understanding of contemporary accounting research in all areas of accounting such as management accounting, performance management, accounting issues of sustainability, financial reporting, corporate governance, finance and accounting education. The centre encourages collaborative and interdisciplinary research and the integration of different research traditions such as positivistic, critical and analytical.
