
The responsibility of the Centre is:
- To facilitate high quality collaborative research that will enhance the research quality of the University’s submission to future research excellence evaluations.
- To advise and encourage members to publish their research in appropriate peer-reviewed journals of national or international standing and to present their research at national and international conferences and symposia.
- To encourage members to contribute to the creation of a research culture through their willing participation in internal research events, for example staff seminars, symposiums and workshops and their active engagement with internal research networks; and externally, for example, through invited addresses, journal (guest) editorships, conference track chairs, conference/journal reviewer, actively engaging with external research networks; and to actively and frequently use communication channels to promote their work.
- To provide a supportive yet rigorous ‘home’ for doctoral and post-doctoral students through the co-supervision of research students, research and publications advice, frequent student events, e.g. student conferences, and the ongoing mentoring of students who have graduated to help them establish their academic careers.
- To establish formal routes of communication to enable the results of research and scholarship to be disseminated – internally and externally – and to proactively build on any outcomes of this communication.
- To inform members on research funding – using the funding information resources available within the University – and to aid and encourage the submission of collaborative funding bids that will help deliver research outputs of national or international excellence
- To contribute to the ongoing curriculum innovation in taught and research-led marketing courses within the Business School.
