Centre for the Study of Faith, Science and Values in Healthcare 

Welcome to the Centre for the Study of Faith, Science and Values in Healthcare. 

Our purpose is to advance knowledge and understanding enabling healthcare professionals, service users and academics explore the interaction of faith, science and value in the healthcare environment.

    The Centre aims to:

    • Promote through education and research a whole person approach to health care.
    • Establish a scientific and values based paradigm for the integration of body, mind and spirit in the promotion of health and well-being as well as the healing of illness and the prevention of dysfunction.
    • Advance public education though lectures, seminars and short courses in collaboration with regional faith communities and secular organisations.
    • Develop training programmes within the field of Whole Person Care for health professionals, counsellors and spiritual advisers.
    • Establish a research network to facilitate the successful grant applications to national funding councils and charitable trusts.
