Our research is driven by the needs of a range of research partners, and includes the following activities:

  • Projects funded through research grants

Research in the School of Sport and Excercise benefits from a purpose-built campus, housing state-of-the-art learning centre, laboratory and sports facilities, with open spaces for networking and socialising. A culture of enquiry-based learning underpins all activity in the school, and we provide first class facilities for over fifty research students.

The School is a major provider of sport and exercise provision, supported by research rated as internationally excellent.  Our well-established research partnerships ensure that knowledge creation and exchange has a clear applied focus. Increasingly wellbeing and quality of life is becoming a major concern, and the school is well placed to contribute to this agenda through all areas of research, and the sustainability interests in the university as a whole.
