The Healthy Europe through
Learning and Practice (HELP) Project aims to develop a European wide professional development product for General Practitioners and other Health Professionals in the areas of coronary heart disease, weight management and physical activity promotion. The two year project starts in October and involves seven European partners from Portugal, Spain, Czech Republic, Romania, Germany and Portugal and the UK. The University of Gloucestershire is the lead for the project which involves another UK partner, Dr Richard Williams (Consultant Clinical Physiologist, Cardiology) from In2Health, an independent not-for-profit social enterprise providing GP and Health Professional training.
HELP Project has its first meeting at University of Gloucestershire
Members of the HELP project met for the first time to discuss the aims and objectives of the project and to start on the two year project. The group, pictured here on the steps of Fullwood House were welcomed to the University by Stephen Marston, the Vice Chancellor. University of Gloucestershire HELP staff (Dr Diane Crone, Gideon Capie, Professor David James, Jo Bridge and Dr Colin Baker) organised, managed and led the two day meeting, which was a resounding success. The next stage of the project is for a needs analysis to be undertaken in each partner country to assess what current CPD is available for health professionals in the areas of coronary vascular disease.
