Hosting an Olympic Team is principally about providing excellent facilities to train and compete prior to the Olympic Games. The quality of the Facilities in Gloucestershire, coupled with the lovely environment that Gloucestershire has to offer, is the reason the Malawi Olympic Team will stay in Gloucestershire.
Although many of the facilities in Gloucestershire are included in the Gloucestershire consortium entry in the Olympic Training Camp brochure, the full extent of the requirements of the team will not be known until all athletes have qualified for the Olympic games.
A sports and facilities group will be developing links with all sports organisations and facilities in Gloucestershire prior to the arrival of the team so that team training and competition can commence as soon as the team arrives.
