The Malawi National Olympic Team has chosen Gloucestershire as their base for the period prior to the London 2012 Olympic Games. The venues within Gloucestershire are part of a Consortium that formed the basis for the Gloucestershire entry in the Olympic Training Camp brochure.
The National Olympic Team of Malawi will be in Gloucestershire for their pre-Olympic Games holding camp in the summer of 2012. The Team is expected to include athletes from the sports of athletics, boxing, cycling, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo and weight-lifting.
The Malawi 2012 project builds on the well established Sport Malawi initiative.
