Invited Expert at UN Global ESD Conference 

 

Ministers, government officials and experts gather in Bonn on the 31st March for a four day United Nations World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). The invitation only conference marks the mid-term point of the UN Decade in Education for Sustainable Development and is an opportunity for government and intergovernmental agencies to discuss ESD matters. The focus of the Conference is the First UN Global Report on ESD which seeks to map progress and capture issues associated with advancing ESD across the sectors. Professor Daniella Tilbury Chair’s the UN Global Expert Group in Monitoring and Evaluation which was responsible for framing the research that informed this Report. The Expert Group also advises UNESCO Paris on matters associated with capturing progress and reporting on ESD.

She will speak on ‘A Global Framework for Mapping Progress in Education for Sustainable Development’ on the 1st April and introduce the report. She will also lead a capacity building workshop on ESD indicators; speak on a panel associated with the UNU Regional Centres of Expertise and Chair the UN Expert Group Meeting which will plan cycle 2 of this research evaluation on the impact of the UN DESD.
