Mona Zoghbi 

Research Study

Mona joined the University of Gloucestershire in October 2009 as a PhD Student in Education for Sustainable Development & Well-Being. Mona is based at the Faculty of Sports, Health, & Social Care at the University, and also works closely with the University's International Research Institute in Sustainability (IRIS). Still in the first stages of her Thesis, the main focus of Mona's research will be on the perceptions and behaviors of the youth in relation to sustainable development from the perspective of health and well-being rather than the traditional focus on the physical environment.

Biography

Mona studied Environmental Health at the American University of Beirut (AUB), then went on to pursue her  Masters Degree in Environmental Sciences from the same university. Her Master's Thesis focused on the impacts of oil spills on the quality of groundwater aquifers along exposed areas, with extensive laboratory work and literature review. Mona  also conducted research into various topics, mainly Healthy Schools, Integrated Water Resources Management, Domestic Water Quality, EcoHealth, Natural Resources Management, and Feasibility Studies for bottled water companies. She also participated in several workshops and events that focused on youth education, awareness, and communication.
