Literary and Critical Studies

Ian is Academic Course Leader for the BA in Film Studies. He teaches across a range of subjects in the film area, with genre, gender and the sports film being his primary interests.

Biography

Ian completed his degree in Film Studies with English Studies at the University of Gloucestershire, remaining there to write his Masters thesis on the female boxing film. He is currently undetaking a PhD alongside his course leader role which focuses upon post-9/11 American apocalypse television. He has particular interests in the sports movie, representations of boxing and mixed martial arts in film and representations of gender.
