Film and Television

Justin is Senior Lecturer in Media Theory. He teaches across a number of disciplines, with his main focus being on animation and the moving sound-image.

Biography

Justin completed his English Literature degree at Nene College Northampton. He then moved to The University of Birmingham, where he completed his MPhil in History, Film and Television and a PhD on avant-garde animation, specially focusing on Mary Ellen Bute. This has resulted in an interest in media forms that span the 'popular' and the 'underground', including live-action cinema, popular music, and animation (across all platforms).
