Staff Profile: Dr. Lucy Clarke Senior Lecturer in Physical Geography
Senior Lecturer in Physical Geography
Geography
Lucy lectures on Physical Geography, specialising in fluvial systems and Geographical Information Systems (GIS), as well as leading on field courses in the UK and internationally.
Lucy lectures on Physical Geography, specialising in fluvial systems and Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Her primary research interests are in the field of process geomorphology and fluvial landform evolution, investigating methods to 'slow the flow' for flood mitigation, the influence of vegetation on geomorphology and water hazards, as well as recent work on twentieth-century glacial change in Antarctica. Methodologically, much of this work involves a combination of field studies, image analysis and experimental physical modelling.
