Prior to joining the university Anita was a Director of Collaboration for Health and Life Sciences at Northumbria University and managed a teacher training programme at Leeds Met University.

Biography

Anita has been involved in netball for thirty-seven years as a performer, coach, talent scout, tutor, coach mentor, technical writer, board director, education and training consultant and a volunteer for other working groups and advisory panels. She is fully commited to the development of coaches across a range of sports and associated mentoring programmes. Anita now supports the development of Business Leaders using her experiences from leadership and coaching in the sport context.

Doctoral level research examined the characteristics of sports coaching expertise across participant contexts in Netball. Similar research engaged with GB Hockey.

Research conducted addressing the perceptions of female coaches in the UK high performance coaching system on behalf of UK Sport.

Case study evaluation conducted of the British Tennis Coach Licensing Scheme.
