Dwi Nita Aryani - PhD Business and Management
The last three years have been the most interesting and exciting period of my life. I have had some
incredible experiences and made friends from around the world. University of Gloucestershire is a stunning and pleasurable place to study, and I enjoyed spending time during my PhD in my cozy room in the university or in the library with a bunch of journals. I
really enjoyed regular meetings with my supervisors who are experts in my topic, kind and patient. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. I really pleased to express my absolute satisfaction with UOG.
Maulana Malik Muhammed - BA Accounting and Financial Management Studies
I am taking the double degree program from the Islamic University of Indonesia which has the partnership with the University of Gloucestershire, at first, I did research about the popularity of this University and I found that the Accounting course for Undergraduate is the most popular, and so I was attracted to choose this University.
I like the learning process at the University as the lecturers really support the International student in and out of the class room, for example if we have an enquiry about the course they are always happy to help. I will miss the university and the town centre which is really beautiful and clean. This town is the best place for study, because it is not noisy like other big cities and everything can be reached by walking.
Now I am studying for my final year and hopefully after I graduate I will find a great job back in Indonesia to improve my countries economy as the expectation is in 20 years Indonesia will be one of the most influencing economic country in the world.
Reza Nevizond - MBA Business Administration
Actually, I didn’t have much time for fun when the course started, because of the task and assignments, but I enjoyed my learning experience there. I enjoy the beauty of the city, and I also enjoy going out with my friends, such as going out to the pub, club, and other places. I like everything about my course except for the accounting and finance module; although I know it’s important. I like when the lecturer teaches the student, not only do they give us theory, but also real case studies, as a real life situation. So, I can understand how to use the theory in a real life situation, which makes my understanding better.
Currently I’m running my own business. My company is called “Laundry Kumari”. I’m the owner of this company. My main duties are to make sure all the operations are right on time and meet my quality standards. I’m currently focusing on expanding my outlet and developing a new business.I don’t find jobs, I create jobs. All the courses that I studied at the university helped me to develop my business. For example, I learned business strategy; it helps me to set a clear direction for the way my company will go.
Nadiavera Tjhin - BA International Business Studies
I chose the University of Gloucestershire as it University has the highest rank compared to other Universities offered to me. I also heard that Cheltenham is a very nice town. I decided to undertake the pre-sessional course and it was very helpful which improve my understanding of how the University do their courses, assignments and the requirements for each assignment.
Outside of my course, I joined the choir society from which I received the music scholarship. By joining the society, I made a lot of UK friends and had a lot interaction with them so that was a good.
Aldo Sudjanasastra - MSc Marketing
I choose University of Gloucestershire because it has the subject I was interested in and located in a good and safe studying environment with good facility. The town itself is not too big or too small, just the right amount of crowd to support the studying environment. In addition, it also has a beautiful park and lake.
Apart from the various courses that the University has to offered, this University have the right size of students and lecturers/staff. I feel that the University really support you in your study with their facility, especially for International students, such as proof reading. You can also have one on one discussion with your lecturer prior to the submission of your assignment, which is something that is not always available in other University.
Dorojatun Prihandono - PhD Business and Management
Actually, the UK was initially my second choice of study destination, due to the cost of currency exchange, the tuition fee, living cost and also the distance, but thank God, my scholarship provider granted my proposal to study in UK. The University of Gloucestershire is on the Ministry’s list in my country and the rank is quite good so I decided to apply. I sent the required documents got my Letter of Acceptance and that was it, and I got my scholarship and came to the University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham to get my PhD.
What I enjoyed the most out of my time here isthe database resources including the academic journals, articles and the books. I am able to access them via the library and the library staffs are all very helpful. At first I felt it is rather bit different back in my country, especially the systems here, but I am getting used to these new things. I also like the academic atmosphere. the tutors in lectures and seminars appreciate all of our opinions. They give suggestions and feedback on what we have done in our tasks and input into our research.
Andika Vinianto Adiputra - MA Journalism
I knew straight away that I wanted to obtain my Master’s Degree in the UK, as it offered a short one year course, which was a suitable time frame, compatible with my personal goals. Additionally, The University of Gloucestershire was amongst the different Universities offered by the agent IBEC, and coincidentally was one of the Universities that had established a good relationship with my Indonesian University. It ticked all the right boxes, offering a balanced course with a good range of modules, and is based in a beautiful town just a couple of hours away from London.
The course is really well structured. It is a well-balanced course between theory and practical learning. I enjoyed the chance to properly produce a news story, from news gathering to editing video content. Most importantly, the lecturers are great, designing a course that promotes a lot of independent study and critical thinking, where they would provide group discussions, which is certainly beneficial.
I enjoy the calmness of park campus. The relaxing environment attracts me the most. It’s a relatively small campus, so it’s easier to get around and to get in touch with people. The campus provides a refectory with pool tables to let loose and an exceptional library with complete facilities that makes studying a more enjoyable activity.
Priska Shirty Thelma Mawuntu- MBA Business Administration
I decided to study at University of Gloucestershire because it has a good MBA course; with a comprehensive list of business and management subjects plus the generous International Merit Scholarship I was offered. I enjoy the study process with busy schedules and abundant individual and group assignments - these teach me how to manage my time wisely. But what I enjoy the most is the socializing process outside the class, involving several community activities such as university chaplaincy, Christian union, international student communities and so on. I love Cheltenham. This town is so beautiful and peaceful, making it perfect for study. All of the festivals, the racecourse, and the nearby Cotswolds colour this place in a certain way that make it even more loveable.
Dandi Supriadi - PhD Media Film and Communications
I had a talk with an international representative from University of Gloucestershire when he visited my office at Universitas Padjadjaran and I was so sure that this University is the right place for me to pursue my higher degree. I was pleased when I found the academics here recognise my research topic very well. I also like the academic culture here, especially the interaction between supervisors and myself as a student. Since the atmosphere is so warm and friendly, I never hesitate to speak up about my ideas and the discussions run well.
The people here are nice and friendly. It is a place of combination between traditional and modern English lifestyle. I like the chance to encounter both in Gloucestershire.
Inez Gazali - MSc Applied Psychology
I started as an INTO student where I met other students from around the world, which has really opened my mind. Also almost every weekend, INTO ran a trip to allow us to visit places in the UK. The staffs at the university are also very friendly and helpful. During my course, the Student Achievement Team helped me through my assignments, for example by assisting to correct my grammar. The Career Adviser Team and DegreePlus Team, helped me create my CV, so I could find volunteering opportunities. In addition to that, the Chaplaincy staff ran events, such as Interfaith lunch, which allowed me to gain perspectives about other beliefs and faiths. As a UoG graduate, I will still be able to use the UoG careers services. So although I am not in the UK anymore, I can still ask the Career Team for advice, which a great opportunity.
