Joseph Madyembwa – BA Media Production
I chose University of Gloucestershire since I wanted to gain a world-class education. The testimonies of past students revealed that the University offered inspired teaching and excellent facilities, as well as the state-of-the-art techniques and equipment required for my area of study. I have really enjoyed my course so far; the system encourages the sense of adventure, plus the freedom to be creative while exploring real-life applications.
The lecturers and other academic staffs gave me the inspiration and support I need to develop my skills and maintain high standards throughout the course. I have the opportunity to spend time with an international community as well as the chance to develop my cricketing skills.
In my free time, I will be catching up with my duties at the Students Union. I am the Black and Minority Ethnic Students Part-time Officer. My responsibility includes addressing and escalation problems such students face in order for them to have an enjoyable university experience.
Munyaradzi Emmanuel Chikanya – BA Business Management
My course gave me an opportunity to discover more about what is happening in the day to day activities of the world in terms ofbusinesses. I really enjoy the Understanding Business Environment module and seminars because it is more like a two way communication between the lecturers and students. The University of Gloucestershire has definitely lived up to its title as one of the best Business School in the UK with knowledgeable and experienced academic staffs as well as the excellent student support in times of needs.
Lubalethu Christabel Dube - BA Accounting and Financial Management
I chose to study at the University of Gloucestershire for several reasons. The first (which is painfully embarrassing to admit) is because I saw pictures of Park Campus in winter and fell madly in love – ironically, I still haven’t seen snow three years later! Once I was convinced I wanted to live here, I had to come up with better reasons. The course sounded perfect for me. I have always loved accounting (I knew since I was 13 that’s what I would do with my life). I liked the variety of assessments and different modules I’d be taking. The cost of everything also played an important role – as an international student, most Universities have quite steep tuition, but this one seemed quite reasonable.
My experience so far? Well, I could write a book about that! Which is why I’m sending this in. It has been a very interesting ride. From the very first moment when I stepped off the plane, when it was a beautiful warm sunny day (they told me England was cold – what was that all about?). It’s safe to say that soon changed. Weather aside, I have been challenged in ways I didn’t know I could be, I’ve met great people, seen wonderful parts of England I had no idea existed and most importantly, learnt to go outside on a rainy day without complaining!
