How Can We Help?

Students who are unwell should wherever possible make an appointment with their GP. NHS Direct can be a useful and relevant service to access, particularly when any illness fall outside of a GP's opening hours.

In an emergency students are advised to call the emergency services for assistance.

All students are encouraged to register with a GP surgery close to where they will be living. To register with our 2 partner surgeries we have made it very easy, just use the online registration system below.

Information about local dentist provision

At the current time there is very little chance of any dental practices in either Cheltenham or Gloucester taking on new patients as ‘NHS patients’.

Therefore if students are already associated with an NHS dentist then they are advised to stay registered with them — even if this dental practice is not local to the University.

There is however an emergency only service within Gloucestershire that will provide NHS treatment for people who are not registered with a local dentist. This service is known as the ‘Personal Dental Service’.
